Yesterday's Missed Post

Yesterday we dug the last of our post holes and as we rounded the last corner, we realized that the beautiful tree (probably the oldest on the lot) was too close to the deck. So, sadly we had to fall it. Because it was leaning toward the house I went up the tree with a buck saw, then a chainsaw and cut several branches off the house side. That was a new experience for me. I'm quite familiar with tree climbing, having grown up in the sticks. But being in the tree with a chainsaw is an entirely, new experience. The tree coming down marked the end of our day. I think having to take it down bummed us all out.
