It was an awesome day today. The sky was crystal clear and it was about 55-60 degrees. Which was good since I had to crawl around on the ground pounding in the lower nails for the strapping. Ken roughed in the final bit of plumbing. And I finally cleared out the side of the building that's been bugging the crap out of me! There were just a bunch of small trees, too young to be called trees, but enough to collect a bunch of sticks and leaves and pine straw. But it's mostly gone now. Sonny was gone some of the day ordering the trusses. But when he returned, we got all the outside headers that will support the deck roof.
Here's a good picture of Sonny and I making "minor" adjustments to the corner 6"x6" while Ken nails it in place.
Our attempt to document Florida Homesteading @ Liberty Retreat. Our cash only homesteading of 10 unimproved acres in the Florida panhandle into a home first, then build smaller cottages for long term/short term rentals. Camping sites too, which are available now. Only 30 min from Destin shopping & beaches. Email for more info. Why is it taking so long? There will be many stages, steps and mini-projects required to make this happen, as well as the most important element -cash-
