Yesterday: Well, I'm going to claim really freaking tired on this one. But, we have all eight walls standing! And the 19' LVL headers that span the breezeway. Those suckers are heavy! We also cut and laid most of the remaining deckboards.
One item Ken deemed worth mentioning; the front of the breezeway is 5/8" larger than the rear. Pretty good for starting with string and stakes in sand.
Today: Sonny and I screwed down most of the deck, while Ken attached the last top plates on the walls. We can now traverse the entire thing without worrying about falling through. But talk about lifeless effort. All three of use were zombie-like and completely without vigor. And Ken left for his home today. He will be back in three weeks when work will continue with putting up the trusses.
Our attempt to document Florida Homesteading @ Liberty Retreat. Our cash only homesteading of 10 unimproved acres in the Florida panhandle into a home first, then build smaller cottages for long term/short term rentals. Camping sites too, which are available now. Only 30 min from Destin shopping & beaches. Email for more info. Why is it taking so long? There will be many stages, steps and mini-projects required to make this happen, as well as the most important element -cash-
